His
Royal Majesty, the Obi of Umunede, Dr. Ezeagwu Ezenwali 1 (JP), has
admitted new members into the Obi-in-council, to join hands with him
in the task of decision-making, for order and good governance of the
kingdom. The information was made known in a press release made
available to Ika
Weekly, which
was signed by Barr. Ignatius Orisewezie, secretary, Obi-in-council.
The
new members are Barr. Marcel Okoh, the Delta State Director of Public
Prosecution (DPP): Chief Andy Emeri, a Warri based business mogul and
Sir Sam Dede, (JP) a businessman and politician. The new entrants
has increased the ranks of selected eminent sons and daughters in the
Royal Council which is the highest decision-making organ, in Umunede
Kingdom.
The
Council has the monarch as the Chairman, Chief Peter Eboh, Publisher
and politician as the Vice-Chairman; Barr. Ignatius Orisewezie,
lawyer, frontline columnist and ex-manager of the Central Bank of
Nigeria as Secretary; Comrade James Ikem as Assistant Secretary and
Chief A.O. Onyeagwu as the chief of Protocol. Other members of the
revered organ of leadership include: Prof. Linus Ajabor College of
Education (Tech) Asaba; Chief (DR) H.P. Ndu Okonye, Agbor; (Sir)
Simon Nwaham, lecturer at the college of Education, Agbor; (Sir)
Simon Nwaokenye (President-General, Umunede Progressive Union): Chief
(Barr.) Edwin Osuho, former Assistant Registrar-General of the
Corporate Affairs Commission, Chief G.O. Egbule, a Logos based
businessman; Mr. P.E.S. Okoh, Executive Secretary, Bureau of Local
Government Pension, Mr. Frank Apokwu, a Director in the Delta State
Civil Service, Chief Benson Iyama (Elema of Umunede), businessman
and politician; Chief Lawrence Ofulue, the Iyase of Umunede; Chief
Ikenna Ukeregbu, the Odogwu of Umunede, Chief Emmanuel Okuno, the
Okita of Umunede and Chief Ndubuisi Oshiadi, the Arum of Umunede.
These Eminent indigenes who committed to Community service make
policy for order and good governance of Umunede kingdom.
