It was another busy day for the medical doctor, Dr. (Mrs.) IsiomaOkobahthe House Representative aspirants and her team when they visited the royal palace of the Dein of Agbor kingdom, Keagborekwuzi 1, at Ime-Obi in Ika South Local Government Area, to give medical attention to the palace chiefs and residents around the area.
According to DR. (MRS.) ISIOMA OKOBAH, leader and founder of Delta Doctors in Diaspora and an IKA FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVEShopeful on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, P.D.P, they brought the free medical service to the Dein’s palace to assist them in knowing their health status and to offer free treatment to them, adding that what she started five years ago is a way of giving back to the society her God given gift and talent. She said that she has come to realize the need forIka people to live a healthier life and as part of her 3-point agenda for the communities; she has been rendering free medical services to them, and will continue to do so. She maintained that there are several plans that she has for Ika people, which will be unfolded in no distant time saying that health facilities will improve in Ika land, including the upgrading of the Central Hospital, Agbor to a Federal status and the equipping of the different clinics in the communities.
Dr. (Mrs.) IsiomaOkobah who reiterated her commitment to provide quality education to the youths of Ika land as part of her 3-point policy also promised to upgrade the College of Education, Agbor to a University status. She said that unemployment and lack of capital to start small scale businesses have become the bane of economic development in the land. She maintained that the youths, including women who have no job, will be empowered to start small scale businesses of their own through Federal and foreign grants that will be made available to them. Those retiring at old age are not left out, as the medical doctor promised that pensioners will be carried along in the scheme of things.
Some of those who took part in the free medical check up and collection of free drugs include Chief J.E Monye, the Ojoto of Agbor kingdom, Chief James Aziken, the Osolobueehike of Agbor kingdom, Chief Richard Ebu, the Deineweiwe of Agbor kingdom, Prince Obika Michael, Prince IsiomaObika, Chief AgbojeAgbogun, the Nonyenidein of Agbor kingdom and other palace Chiefs in Agbor kingdom, including other persons of the royal family. They all thanked Dr. (Mrs.) IsiomaOkobah for visiting the palace to distribute drugs. Mr. Emmanuel Ojemeh, aka, Tintin, Dr. (Mrs.) IsiomaOkobah campaign manager said that they want to ensure that the people of Ika land have a feel of what the learned doctor is going to do when she eventually gets to the FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. He stated that during the previous week, drugs worth hundreds of thousands of Naira, including wheel chairs and crutches were distributed freely at the P.D.P. secretariat, in the presence of party faithfuls in the area. He urged the people to give Dr. Okobah their mandate, as they will never regret doing so.
Mrs. Theresa O. Okoh, mother of Dr. (Mrs.) IsiomaOkobah who was at the palace with the team, reaffirmed the ability of her daughter to deliver accordingly. She said that as the mother of the learned doctor, she knows what her daughter could do. She described her as obedient and respectful, always giving listening ears to constructive ideas. "My daughter is the type that listens to peoples’ cries, and will do all she could to alleviate their suffering. This is just a little of what Ika people and indeed, Delta State are going to experience by the time she eventually gets there, " she enthused.
