The commissioner of Works in Delta State, Hon, Solomon Funkekeme, has gave December 15, 2012 as dead line for contractors handling the various road projects in the state to complete their jobs or face disciplinary measures, including having the contracts terminated.
He warned the contractors to ensure the compliance with the deadline or risk the refund of the mobilization fee paid to them, adding that the state government would inspect the roads as soon as they are completed.
Hon. Funkekeme urged all those supervising the projects to be serious as Deltans are eager to see road projects in their areas completed.
What could not be ascertained from the commissioner’s statement was whether the already abandoned old Lagos/ Asaba road is part of the road projects that will be completed before December 15, as no work is going on the road and other abandoned projects littered in different communities in Ika land.
