RAIN STORM RENDERS MANY HOMELESS IN IGBODO

 

No fewer than fifty persons from
different  families have been rendered
homeless following a heavy downpour on Wednesday March, 2013. Also affected by
the ravaging storm which caused havocs at Ilabor, Idumu  Obior, Idumu Ozei, all in Igbodo community
where PHCN poles and cables were destroyed.

            At
the time our correspondent visited the community, the victims were still
brooding  over their loss.

            Narrating
his ordeal, one of the victims, Mr. Evis Okenyebulor, from Ilabor said the
storm destroyed many of his properties.

            Another
victim, Nwannedi Okorie, also  from
Ilabor wept bitterly over her loss, lamenting that the disaster occurred just
two weeks they lost their mother.

            According
to him, a place to do the burial ceremony of their late mother has become a
serious concern now.

            He
therefore pleaded with spirited individuals, philanthropists, cooperate bodies
and the government to come to their aid.

            In
a related development, the supervisory councilor representing Igbodo community,
Rev. Hon. Samuel Ogwugwa Ojemi 
sympathized with the victims, saying that it is very unfortunate, as he
solicited for support from individuals, groups and government.
