52 YEAR OLD OIL MILLER KILLED

BOJI-BOJI OWA – A 52-year old oil palm processor Mr. Godwin Edobor Iwegie was killed by unknown persons along Owa-nta by Offie road, Boji-Boji, Owa on Thursday.

           

Mr. Godwin Edobor Iwegie, who hails from Owa-Oyibu was said to have left his house, No. 20, Oyibu Street, Boji-Boji Owa, on that ill-fated day to make phone call and never returned home.

             

According to a family source, Edobor was said to have gone to call his workers who work for him in his oil palm plantation. According to the source Mr. Edobor after making a successful call and drove off with his motorcycle, to unknown destination.

           

The younger sister of the deceased, Mrs. Rose Obasogie told Ika Weekly that they received call from the police the next morning, with the victim’s cell phone, that Edobor is dead.

           

She said, there were bruises all over his body, no mark to show he was stabbed or killed by gun, she suggested he was strangled to death.

           

The deceased mother Mrs. Iwegie who is living with his son said a woman who claimed to be the owner of the plantation, and happened to be the step mother of the man whom the deceased hired the oil palm plantation from threatened the victim 2 weeks before his death, that she will kill him if he refuse to stop harvesting from the plantation. Unfortunately the deceased motorcycle was found along Owa-nta street, around Afia-Obi market, where the man whom the deceased hired the plantation from is residing.
